Joomla from the start

Addicted to Joomla since it all began in 2005. The Joomla platform began as a fork from the Mambo system on August 17th, 2005. The Mambo system was trademarked by Miro International Pvt. Ltd.. They formed a non-profit foundation with the stated purpose of protecting Mambo and the open-source princliples on which is was founded. The team behind the Joomla project claimed many of the provisions in the foundation were contrary to core open source values and went against prior agreements they had in place. The Joomla project team gained widespread support and began the project anew as Joomla. The Joomla name is the anglicised spelling of the Swahili word jumla meaning "all together" or "as a whole" which also has a similar meaning in Arabic and Urdu.

We have been Joomla addicts from the start and were fans of the original Mambo system before the Joomla project began.

The Joomla name derives from the Swahili word jumla meaning "all together" or "as a whole".

We've been Joomla addicts sine it all began back in 2005, and it's come a long way since those early days.

  • Rapid web site development: Considering how powerful Joomla is, it is relatively easy for non-technical users to work in. With its WYSIWYG or word processor-like content editing interface, image and video embedding features, content access control, and scheduled content release, Joomla boasts many powerful, yet easy to use features.
  • Secure, extensible and dependable: Joomla is used on more than 2.9% of all websites worldwide. Software patches and updates are presented in real time by an aggressive development support community. Extended security systems such as firewalling and trustworthy hosting make a Joomla system one of the most secure platforms available.
  • Social publishing and community building: Joomla can leverage the latest social media technologies including wiki’s, blogs, articles, forums, social network integration, bookmarking, RSS feeds, business listings, document management, CRM, ERP & LMS integrations, and much more.

Joomla! is one of the worlds most popular CMS (content management system) platforms. It has been downloaded more than 35 million times since 2006. Uniquely, Joomla is the only non-corporate backed, community driven CMS platform in the world.
